As US President Donald Trump announces his country’s withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran, India thinks about its trade ties with Tehran. There are concerns in New Delhi that imposition of more financial and banking sanctions against Iran could disrupt bilateral trade. The two countries in the past had managed to make financial arrangements in rupee-riyal and in case of new US sanctions against Iran; Indians may resort to the same arrangement to facilitate trade.
