Iran condemned the attack of the security forces on the devotees of Imam Hussein Alaislam in Nigeria and showed sympathy with the families of the martyrs of this attack.
Nigerian Islamic Movement spokesman Ibrahim Musa said on Tuesday that at least 27 people were martyred in the firing of soldiers on the pilgrims involved in Imam Hussain Al Ahsalam’s Chahalum in Abuja.
On Saturday, at least 10 pilgrims were martyred in similar attacks.
External Affairs Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi on Tuesday stressed the Nigerian security forces to work steadily and respect Shias’ peaceful religious rituals in talks with news agency Fars.
He expressed hope that both sides will turn to the situation in order to safeguard security and stability through peaceful, legal and civil rights and to prevent further tension and clashes.
