Pune: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday warned party allies in the state. He said that BJP will support the candidacy of only those supporting parties, which will support Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP chief said that if the leaders of allies do not support Narendra Modi, then BJP itself has capable candidates themselves.
This threat of Chief Minister Fadnavis is being indirectly considered on Shiv Sena. Without naming the party’s ally Shiv Sena, he said that candidates who support Modi will be able to reach Parliament by winning in the next general elections.
In the Center and the BJP-led governments in Maharashtra, the partner Shivsena is attacking Modi on various issues. Addressing a rally in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Fadnavis said that some people questioned whether this rally is taking place under the preparations for the elections of Mawal and Shirur Lok Sabha seats and whether it is an indication of the end of the alliance with Shiv Sena.
Significantly, Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, Shiv Sena MP from Shiv Sena, is from Shrivard Baran and Shirur Lok Sabha seat from Maval Lok Sabha seat. Fadnavis said in the rally, “I want to make it clear that this rally is not against any particular party. But our stand is clear that the candidate supporting Modi will go to Parliament. If our supporters express their support for Modi, we have no problem in supporting their candidates. “
