Lucknow: Yogesh Raj, the main accused of violence in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, has been arrested. Yogesh Raj, who came in the custody of the police last night, was running absconding for several days. Yogesh Raj is the district coordinator of the Bajrang Dal. According to the police, he has been arrested from Khurja town of Bulandshahr. The police is interrogating him and he will be present in the court this afternoon.
Additional Director General of Meerut Zone Prashant Kumar has confirmed the arrest of Yogesh Raj. He told that Yogesh Raj has been arrested near Khurja’s Brahmananda College.
On December 3, after the Gaukshi in Mahav village of Bulandshahr, Yogesh Raj and the nearby village were on the spot. Contrary to the police reaching the spot Yogesh Raj filled his cohorts with cows in a tractor trolley and brought it to Chingravathi post. Bulandshahra Garh highway was blocked from tractor-trolley and hundreds of people gathered there furiously on the checkpoint. The crowd rushed to the arson and stone-pelting and the inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, who was picked up from the crowd, was shot dead. The crowd also set fire to many police vehicles.
Yogesh Raj was made a monk in a lawsuit filed in the case of violence and arson. Apart from Yogesh Raj, Shyamal Agarwal, Shaniya Nagar President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha is also accused in this case. Shikhar Agarwal is still absconding. After the name came to light, both the accused had declared themselves viral by viral video on social media during their absconding. Both of them had also accused the police of gossiping in the area.
Due to delay in the arrest of Bajrang Dal’s district convener Yogesh Raj, opposition parties had accused the political pressure over the police. Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s city president Shikhar Agrawal and International Hindu Council leader Upendra Raghav are still absconding.
Such was the assassination of violence, arson and inspector
On December 3, the remains of cows were found in a farm of Mahav village of Sayana Thanakshakra. The villagers called the leaders of Hinduist organizations there. The allegation is that Bajrang Dal’s district convener Yogesh Raj and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s Saana Nagar president Shikhar Agrawal led the villagers and brought the remains to the trolley and brought them to the Chancharogi post.
Bulandshahr-Garh started jamming by crowding the highway. When the police reached the spot, tried to open the jam, the stone pelting was done on the police. Meanwhile, a protestor Sumit was shot dead after which Inspector Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, in-charge of Sayya was shot dead.
