New Delhi: Alliance and seats have been announced among the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh. The official announcement was made by BSP supremo Mayawati in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav. He said that out of the 80 seats in the state, the Samajwadi Party will contest 38 seats and the BSP will contest 38 seats.

The SP-BSP alliance has left two seats for the other smaller parties. Small parties can have a Peace Party, Nishad Party or RLD.
