Mehul Choksi, accused of scam of 12 thousand 700 crore rupees in Punjab National Bank in India, has given up the citizenship of India.
The government of this country can face more difficult now to bring Mehul Choksi, a diamond trader accused of PNB loan fraud case. Choksi has deposited his Indian passport in the Antigua High Commission, leaving Indian citizenship. In this regard, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Amit Narang gave information to the Home Ministry. Mehul Choksi has written his new address in the farm which is filled up for leaving Indian citizenship, Jolly Harbor, Center Marcus, Antigua.
Be aware that Choksi had taken the citizenship of Antigua only in 2017. Choksi was given citizenship after the Mumbai Police’s green flag. After PNB Ghotale, diamond trader Mehul Choksi and his brother Neerav Modi were freed from India. The ED and the CBI team investigating the matter have seized movable and immovable property worth Rs 4.5 billion. Action is also being taken against Choksi and Modi under the Economic Fugitive Act.
