Backward Classes Commission has not been formed for two years in the state. All 28 posts including President and Vice President are running vacant At the same time the complaints of people of the backward classes are increasing. But, they are not getting any solutions.
This Commission has been constituted to ensure the social security of castes in the backward classes. The Commission conducts hearing of complaints regarding reservation in government jobs.
If the rules of reservation are not followed, giving notice to the concerned department and ensuring compliance is the main task of the commission. The Commission also considers applications to include or exclude various castes in OBCs.
The Commission also has the right to give its recommendation to the government in this regard. Commission also considers cases of torture or atrocities, murder and rape with members of backward classes.
If the affected applicant is not given justice, then the Commission also gives the Commission instructions for it. Not only this, the recommendation of the action against the messing officer comes in the jurisdiction of the commission.
Every year scholarships, fee reimbursement, dependent pension, marriage grant and housing related complaints also come in large amounts in the commission. According to the sources of the commission, more than 7 thousand complaints are currently pending in the Commission.
The main reason for this is that there is no hearing in the commission. After the Yogi Government came to power, the then chairman Ram Aare Vishwakarma gave resignation in April 2017.
The Commission has a president, two vice-presidents and 25 members, but at present, there is no deployment in any of these posts. The result of this is that people of the backward castes are not getting proper justice.
