Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the deaths of people suffering from illegal liquor in Kushinagar and Saharanpur districts and directed the concerned district collectors to ensure proper treatment of the affected people.
The Chief Minister has announced a financial assistance of Rs. Two lakh to the dependents of the deceased and 50-50 thousand rupees for the sick people.
The Chief Minister also directed the Chief Secretary Abachar to take departmental action against the District Excise Officers of these two districts. At the same time, the Director General of Police has asked the officers of the districts to determine the liability.
He also directed the Excise and Police Department to run a 15-day joint operation against people linked to illegal liquor.
Let us tell you that the poisonous liquor in UP and Uttarakhand has made tremendous orgy. In Roorkee of Uttarakhand, where 12 people have died due to drinking poisonous liquor, 16 people died in Saharanpur and 8 in Kushinagar. The condition of some others remains still serious.
