At least 17 people have died in a fire in a hotel in the Karol Bagh area of Delhi on Tuesday morning.
Among the casualties, a woman and a child were also involved who were trying to jump from the window to avoid the fire.
At least 9 people have been injured in this accident. The number of people killed in the accident is expected to increase.
Delhi Government Minister Satyendra Jain told that most people have died due to suffocation.
Jain said that at the initial glance, this is a case of negligence, because in the area where this hotel is located, only four-storey building is allowed, but this hotel is six-storey.
Delhi Fire Service Chief Atul Garg said, “This hotel has 35 rooms. A family who had come to Delhi for the entire hotel had booked for a program. At least 25 fire service personnel reached the spot after the information received around 4:30 in the morning.
Fire has been recovered and the area is currently being investigated and surrounded by the area.
