There was no formula for runner-up or more votes in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in the split of seats in SP-BSP combine. BSP supremo’s choice has been given more preference in the sharing of seats. The BSP took several seats from the SP on which he was in second place in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Similarly, the BSP will contest the SP elections on a few selected seats.
Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav had declared the fight on January 12 after combating the Lok Sabha elections. Mayawati had talked of contesting the 38 and 38 seats of SP and BSP at that time. Two seats were announced for Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and two other parties. The National Lok Dal was involved in other parties. The two parties took one month and eight days in the division of seats.

Meanwhile, on the last day of the last session of the 16th Lok Sabha, SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav said that he wants to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister next time too. They also questioned the coalition on Thursday. Shortly after the joint signature of Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav, the division of 75 Loksabha seats was released. BSP and SP will contest in 38 and 37 seats respectively.

It is clear from the list that Mayawati’s opinion has been given in the choice of seats. Amethi, Rae Bareli, Muzaffarnagar, Mathura and Baghpat are not mentioned in the list of Lok Sabha constituencies. According to the previous announcement, Congress and RLD will contest three seats in two seats. For RLD, SP has given a seat of his quota. In this way, the RLD has become a part of the coalition.
Mayawati can fight elections from Nagina
BSP supremo Mayawati can contest from Nagina (reserved) Lok Sabha seat. In the seat-sharing, the BSP has taken both the Bijnaur and Nagina seats in Bijnor district. In 2014, the SP was in second place and BSP was in third place in both the seats.

Mayawati had become MP for the first time in 1989, winning the election from Bijnor. At that time Bijnor was a safe seat. After the new delimitation, Bijnor seat became normal and Nagina (Secured) became the new seat. Mayawati is aware of this area. Nagina seat has more than 55 percent Muslim and Dalits. Seven-eight percent Jat is also a voter. In case of coalition from RLD they can get the benefit.
