After the counter action taken by the Indian Air Force on Pakistan, high alert has been made in UP. DGP Om Prakash Singh has instructed the police captains, IG and ADG of all the districts of the state to take strict vigil on public places.
He has instructed the security forces engaged in Kumbh to ensure adequate security for important religious places and tourist places.
It also includes major establishments, reputed destinations, bus stations, railway stations. These instructions have been given after the alert issued by intelligence agencies. Earlier, the DGP himself reached the IB office in the capital at 10:30 am and held a meeting with the officials.
In the major cities like Agra, Bareilly, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Varanasi and Allahabad, along with bases of Army and Air Force located in the state, have been given special vigilance.
